The client had a need to produce high volumes of black and white print and to reduce the time taken to assemble large case note files.

After an initial consultation it became apparent that one of the major issues was the time taken to assemble case note files, a variety of separate documents existed, all created in a variety of file format (JPEG, PDF, HTML, Word, Excel for example).

Traditionally these large files would be printed as 3 sets of separate documents and then a legal secretary would spend up to 4 hours in collating, inserting and assembling the finished document.

The solution was to provide a Canon iR6570 black and white photocopier with network print, producing 65 A4 prints per minute. This was coupled with Canon’s iW360 document management solution that allowed for the collation and manipulation of documents on screen, then assembling the case notes as a finished file for printing, on average the time taken for this task was reduced by 3 hours.

Of greater importance, any last minute changes only require the operator to use the software to introduce amended pages or alter page order with ease.

The practice in question has now in place a fast reliable print solution, reduced copy costs and vastly reduced administration time.
